Golden Bay Easter Movie Night 2018

Easter Movie Night 2018

The annual Golden Bay Easter Movie Night was a huge success, with around 200 residents both old and new joining in on the fun. Giant fun filled games were enjoyed by families, as well as an Indian curry food truck, coffee van and shave ice food truck for those who were a bit peckish.

In the spirit of Easter, an egg hunt was also a much-loved activity on offer. Kids collected popsicles and traded them in for eggs – or bunnies for the lucky ones that found yellow popsicles!

Families brought their own picnic rugs and beanbags, and Finding Dory started around 7pm as the sun went down.

The Golden Bay Coastcare Planting Event is supported by Perth Region NRM, the City of Rockingham, Golden Bay Coastcare and Golden Bay estate and is held annually between June and August. Residents and visitors descend onto the Golden Bay dunes to plant a range of native shrubs, including coastal rosemary (olearia), red sea-berry (rhagodia), acacia and coastal fanflower (scaevola).

The weekend planting is part of an ongoing program to conserve and re-vegetate the dunes at Golden Bay which have seen a number of community planting days over the past 18 months, focusing on the southern end of the area.
